At Lucy & Co., our HQ isn’t just powered by coffee and creativity — it’s fueled by tail wags, squeaky toys, and at least one dog who can smile on command. From resident models to professional couch potatoes, meet the pets behind the scenes who inspire everything we do. Gus Goldendoodle | Head of Modeling (self-appointed)Human: Aubrey, Head of Community If you’ve ever wondered who sets the standard for “camera ready,” it’s Gus. This almost-10-year-old Goldendoodle has mastered the art of smiling on command (most of the time), making him Lucy & Co.’s unofficial resident model. Gus is playful, mischievous, energetic, and just the right amount of goofy. His love languages? Fetch. Long walks. Cheese. Salmon. (In that order… probably.) When he’s not perfecting his grin for the camera, you can find him zooming around like he’s half his age. Millie & Marti Tri-Color Sweetheart & Black Lab Mix | Rescue SistersHuman: Matt, Warehouse Manager Adopted from Spots Last Stop in Minnesota, Millie and Marti are the definition of opposites who totally balance each other out. Millie (tri-color) is a queen who values her alone time. She prefers life in a cozy, secluded corner of the house where she can recharge. She’ll emerge for food, pets from her humans, and a little outside time with her sister — and then it’s back to her couch potato era. Honestly? We love that for her. Marti, on the other hand, is fast, energetic, and absolutely shameless about requesting belly rubs. She needs to be near her people at all times and thrives on cuddles — though she also appreciates a dramatic nap in a closet or any dark, cozy hideaway she can find. Together, they remind us that whether you’re a social butterfly or a solo snuggler, there’s a place for every personality. Kevin & Karl Puggles (Pug/Beagle Mixes) | Barketing InternsHuman: Anna, Head of Marketing Kevin and Karl are goofy, silly little guys who perfectly balance energetic adventurers with professional nappers. Kevin, 14 years young, has been around since Anna’s college days — when, by her own admission, she probably had no business getting a dog. Adopted off Craigslist, Kevin has lived a full, adventurous life. Back when they lived in Oregon, he’d hike 5–10 miles across the state and still wake up ready to do it all over again. He has the worst FOMO of any pet ever (which might be the result of being a tiny, untrained college pup… but we don’t judge). He wants to be part of everything. Always. Karl joined the family three years ago at age four. Adopted from a family who didn’t have the time he deserved, he’s been the most fun addition. He keeps Kevin young and is absolutely obsessed with being right next to him at all times. At first, Kevin was not thrilled about his new roommate. But now that he’s realized Karl isn’t going anywhere? He still doesn’t love him, but he’s warming up. Sibling love takes time! Winnie & Raider Pittie/Heeler Mix & American Bully | Big Hearts ClubHuman: Molly, Head of Operations Winnie is an 8-year-old pittie/heeler rescue who joined Molly’s life in 2020 — just a few months after she started at Lucy & Co. Through lots of training and dedication, Winnie has made huge strides in managing her reactivity and now mostly tolerates other dogs from afar (we love growth). Her hobbies include “keeping an eye on things” (read: professional neighborhood snoop), crunching on cucumbers, and passionately disliking the mailman. Above all else, she loves doing anything with her mom. Raider, about 5 years old, is an American Bully currently looking for his forever home through Unbreakabull Pitbull Rescue of MN. He’s the perfect balance of playful and couch potato. He’s competed in canine disc (yes, he’s athletic), but he also considers cuddling a competitive sport. Raider loves all snacks — especially fruits and veggies — but his one true soulmate? A tennis ball. If you’ve been thinking about adding to your pack, Raider just might be your guy. Winston & Kai Dynamic Duo | Treat Inventory ControlHuman: Britney, Customer Service Specialist Winston and Kai were adopted at the same time from a small shelter in northern Wisconsin, and they’ll both be turning 6 this year. Winston, the chunky grey boy, is a full-time charmer with a part-time job as Lucy & Co.’s official Treat Inventory Manager. He has absolutely no problem winning over anyone he meets. His specialties include expert-level cuddling and loving treats… maybe a little too much. If there’s a snack nearby, Winston knows about it. Kai, his sweet and affectionate sister, is the brains of the operation. She’s the smartest girl and lives for a good game of fetch. While she appreciates cuddles, it’s on her terms — and honestly, we respect that energy. Together, they’re the perfect balance of charm and intelligence, snacks and strategy. Maverick Professional Toy GreeterHuman: Sophie, Warehouse Team Maverick is a 5-year-old Brittany with a big personality and even bigger quirks. His best friend? Goose, Sophie’s dad’s cat. Yes, really. His fears? Sweatshirt hoods. His hobbies? Eating rocks (please don’t ask) and confidently believing he’s a lap dog. When guests come over, Maverick grabs one of his toys to proudly show off — the ultimate host behavior. Equal parts sweet and silly, he keeps things interesting at all times. Why We Do What We Do Behind every harness, collar, and leash is a team inspired by dogs (and cats) who are playful, independent, resilient, goofy, loving, snack-motivated, and completely themselves. From rescue stories to lifelong adventures, these pets remind us why quality, comfort, and personality matter. They’re not just pets — they’re family. And at Lucy & Co., they’re the heart of HQ. Which HQ pet are you most like — the couch potato, the adventurer, the neighborhood watch captain, the treat manager, or the smile-on-command superstar?
